(Relaxnews) – In July, Mattel announced its partnership with Karl Lagerfeld to create an exclusive new Barbie. Now, in addition to unveiling the first two photos of the doll, the brand has set a date for the much anticipated release.

Dressed and styled by Karl Lagerfeld, the new Barbie will go on sale from September 29, in the midst of Paris Fashion Week. Clearly more than a mere toy, Barbie Lagerfeld is a serious collector’s item produced in a limited edition of 999 dolls, each priced at $200 or €200.

Fans will have to act fast to get their hands on one of the exclusive dolls, which will only be sold in select Karl Lagerfeld stores, at Colette in Paris, and online at thebarbiecollection.com and Net-a-Porter.

This unique Barbie doll sports a black jacket, a white men’s dress shirt, a black satin cravat and fitted black jeans. Of course, the outfit would not be complete without miniature versions of some of Lagerfeld’s signature accessories, including black fingerless gloves and sunglasses. A black leather clutch with metallic accents and black ankle boots round out the look.
