(Relaxnews) – Shipped off to New Mexico as part of a witness protection program but with his safety put into jeopardy as a new case starts to unravel, potential franchise star and NYPD officer Marshall Grade is to be played by Bradley Cooper.

The film is based on the fourth novel by New Zealand author Ben Sanders. Due fall 2015, the book is seen as the first of a series, making its acquisition an alluring prospect for film and TV companies, noted the Hollywood Reporter.

Cooper is also to act as producer on the Warner Bros. film; in the meantime, he’ll be appearing opposite Jennifer Lawrence in “Serena” this April, with “Guardians of the Galaxy” out in August.
