MANILA (Mabuhay) – “She’s The One” actor Dingdong Dantes is planning to celebrate Christmas in one of the provinces in Visayas that was badly hit by super typhoon “Yolanda” last month.

Dantes said he has yet to determine the exact place which he will visit but stressed that he will definitely spend Christmas with the typhoon victims.

“It’s better to go unannounced. Ito namang mga bagay na ito, it comes from the heart and no need for any fan fair,” he explained.

Just recently, Dantes and his team went to a town in Iloilo that was also ravaged by the super typhoon.

It was very smooth, walang naging abertya. Wala namang naging problema. Talagang devastated talaga. Hindi man ito yung sentro kung saan alam natin na badly-hit, pero sa nakita ko, it was also badly-hit. Maaaring hindi lang nakikita sa TV,” he said.

Saying he wants to give back to the people, Dantes said he finds joy in helping others especially in this time of need.

Kung on normal days nga, normal years, ang pagka-Pilipino lumalabas tuwing Pasko, nagiging generous tayo. Siguro mas lalo na ngayon nagiging evident dahil alam nating may nangangailangan. In our own small ways, may mga inaabot tayo,” he said.

Without disclosing further details about his planned Visayas trip, Dantes said: “Kung may oras naman kami, if we can spare a little bit of our talent and kung ano man ang puwede namin ipagkaloob at ibigay sa kanila, if we do it always naman on Christmas, bakit hindi doon?

The actor, meanwhile, urged Filipinos to help in the rehabilitation of the typhoon-hit areas even in their own simple ways.

Relief can only last for so long. The task mainly is how to rebuild lives, homes. Hindi naman siguro makakaya ng kung sino mang maatasan to do everything instantly and rapidly. Malaking bagay ang pagututulungan at like what I say, no matter how small, ang importante naka-contribute ka. In times like this, everyone is very important,” he said.

According to Dantes, his team is closely working with the Department of Education and are planning to rebuild classrooms in an undisclosed town in Iloilo. (MNS)
