Farewell party for Consul General Maria Hellen Barber De La Vega: An invitation to the community

”Friends of Consul General Maria Hellen Barber-De La Vega,” in cooperation with Kalayaan Incorporated, will tender a farewell party on March 1, at the Double Tree by Hilton, 13111 Sycamore Drive, Norwalk, CA 90650, to honor beloved Congen Hellen for her dedicated and outstanding service to the community. Dinner cost is $45 per person.

Consul Gen. Barber-De La Vega, who is leaving early March, will assume the post of Senior Special Assistant to the Undersecretary for Policy in the Philippines Department of Foreign Affairs.  She will be the Deputy to the Undersecretary on policy issues affecting Philippine relations with Southeast Asia, Asia Pacific countries and the United States. She is deemed the best person for the position in light of her academic expertise and invaluable experiences in Asian and Asian Pacific affairs, and her prior postings in several Asian countries including her recent tour of duty as Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Myanmar.
