(Relaxnews) – Fur, that much-debated subject, is a key fashion trend this season. Designers shifted their interest to both real and faux versions to keep us warm and snuggly this winter. Here are our picks of the fur pieces displayed at the fashion shows.

Fox, mink and rabbit were just some of the types of fur reworked at the Fall-Winter 2015-16 catwalk shows of the biggest fashion houses, with Fendi leading the way.

Ready-to-wear, accessories and obviously coats were all dressed in fur this winter, although the debate about its use continues. Not all designers opted for real fur. Stella McCartney, who is pro-animal rights and uses neither leather nor fur in her designs, presented a selection of pieces in faux fur, including coats and hats.

Head-to-toe in fur

The tradition of the fur coat as a classic piece was maintained by the brands, and the approach this season is anything but subtle. Women will be able to wrap up in extra-long fur coats when the temperatures drop outside. Zero chance of being chilly with the latest styles.

Marni gave us long fur coats, as did Fendi, the specialist, which dreamed up ultra-long coats covering the entire body down to the ground. This Italian house — of which Karl Lagerfeld is the creative director — even showcased high-heeled shoes covered with fur.

Eye-catching colors

Some fashion houses opted for a modern and lively version of fur with colored pieces, some in very vibrant tones. Shades of yellow, red, orange, bronze and silver are now part of the fur trend.

Emilio Pucci saw fur in green or red, both sensual and chic, while Just Cavalli and Roberto Cavalli went for two or three colors in one piece. Fur was even used in patchwork at Saint Laurent, giving a very rock’n’roll vibe.

Hints of fur

Sleeveless jackets, scarves, hats, handbags and shoes: some brands preferred to just add touches of fur to their catwalk outfits.

Sonia Rykiel gave us fur scarves in natural shades, while Shiatzy Chen added fur — in both toned-down and bright colors — to a vast selection of pieces, including sleeves, collars, and coats.

Louis Vuitton opted for handbags, including little box-bags covered in white fur.
