(Relaxnews) – Sent with love from New Zealand to Los Angeles is a giant pop-up book illustrating four filming locations that became part of “The Hobbit.”

Set up within the grounds of the Beverly Hilton hotel, the display is on site for a five-day stint in anticipation of the December 2 premiere of “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,” second of three films shot by “Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson, which goes on general release from December 13.

The story’s Hidden Bay, Forest River, Lake-town and Beorn’s House correspond to the real world locations of Turoa’s snowy slopes on North Island, the rocky Pelorus River on the northern tip of South Island, Mount Cook’s galacial Lake Pukaki, and the more pastoral area of Paradise, which is making its return from “The Lord of the Rings.”

Though the oversize book-style set is intended for use as accommodation for the movie’s media junket, with cast and crew interviews staged on and around it, a special public tour is to take place on Wednesday, December 4.
