Helena Bonham Carter set for ‘Alice in Wonderland’ sequel

(Relaxnews) – Helena Bonham Carter is expected to reunite with Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska for Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland 2,” also known as “Through the Looking Glass.”

Final negotiations are underway, according to Variety, for Bonham Carter to join the cast for the movie’s anticipated May 2016 release.

2010′s Lewis Carroll adaptation cleared $1 billion worldwide on a budget estimate of between $150m and $200m, with wins at the Oscars, BAFTAs and Golden Globes.

“Harry Potter” regular Bonham Carter, who is also set to appear as the Fairy Godmother in 2015 feature “Cinderella,” will be directed on “Through the Looking Glass” by James Bobin of “The Muppets,” “Flight of the Conchords” and “Da Ali G Show.”

Ali G actor Sacha Baron Cohen is also scheduled to appear in “Through the Looking Class,” though his role is as yet unspecified.
