(Relaxnews) – Katy Perry has widened the social media gap with her nearest rival Justin Bieber, accumulating 80 million followers on Twitter.

Already the most followed Twitter user, Perry recently passed the 80.3 million mark — about as many digital singles Perry has sold, notes Entertainment Weekly.

Bieber is the next most followed celebrity on Twitter at around 73 million followers, while Taylor Swift comes in third with nearly 69 million followers.

Her most popular tweet?

“If One Direction doesn’t perform on the VMA’s I’m gonna jump off this ledge,” posted in September, 2012.

Perry is expected to drop her fourth studio album later this year.
