Although she has already been in showbiz for nine years, Kim Chiu believes her upcoming movie “Etiquette for Mistresses” has helped her mature as an actress.

“Parang it’s time for me to mature. Hindi na ako dapat ‘yung pabebe na patawa or pa-jologs,” she said at the press conference for the movie.

Chiu, however, admitted that she was hesitant when it was first offered to her.

Inisip ko kung may susuporta ba sa akin dito,” she said.

Chiu said it was Kris Aquino, her co-star in the movie, who convinced her to do the film.

Parang it’s time for me to mature. Marami rin akong natutunan in terms of love sa pelikulang ito and siyempre sa apat na artista nakasama ko. Sa love, it’s about respect, attraction, choice and decision,” she said.

Directed by Chito Rono, “Etiquette for Mistresses” also features Claudine Barretto, Iza Calzado, and Cheena Crab. It is set to be released in theaters on September 30. (MNS)
