(Relaxnews) – Following a tribute to Loris Azzaro’s Mediterranean origins last summer, the Italian brand has shifted its focus to Latin America for its two 2014 limited editions, designed by French artist Takeshi.

Takeshi, who is based in New York, was invited to offer a new take on the flacons for Azzaro Pour Homme and Azzaro Chrome. Last year’s limited editions featured two watercolor designs by French artist Mélanie Bénéfice.

From Guatemala to Paraguay

In 2014, the two limited edition flacons — one for each of the two Azzaro men’s fragrances — feature distinctly Latin American architectural details and landscapes, each with its own color palette. Azzaro Pour Homme has been dressed in warm shades of brown, red and ochre, while the Chrome flacon features a cooler palette of blues and greens, calling to mind the turquoise waters of Latin America.

“For the illustrations on the Azzaro Pour Homme and Chrome flacons, I drew inspiration from the idea my many Latino friends in New York provide of their homeland: a great cultural wealth, a more manageable pace of life compared to ours, and a particular human warmth,” said Takeshi.

Latin fragrances

The essence of these two men’s perfumes has also been revisited. A cocktail of Latin American notes has been added to Azzaro Pour Homme for this limited edition, which features Brazilian orange, Guatemalan cardamom, Paraguayan guaiac wood and Venezuelan tonka bean.

Chrome, meanwhile, has taken on notes of Argentine mandarin, Brazilian pink peppercorn and vetiver for the 2014 limited edition.

These two special edition fragrances will be available at authorized retailers, priced from €59 (around $80) for 100ml.
