PAULO Avelino said that being in show business is not as easy as what most people thought it would be because their every move is scrutinized by the public.

The 27-year-old actor, who admitted he is still uncomfortable when in front of the camera or being interviewed by the media, said some people are quick to make judgment of what they see or hear on television or what is written on the papers.

He knows it is part of what he signed up for but said it is something he’ll not get used to anytime soon.

“Until now naninibago pa rin ako at hindi ko alam kung kailan ba ako masasanay. Basta sa ngayon I’m happy sa nangyayari sa career ko, happy din ako sa suporta ng mga tao and I do my best not to disappoint them,” he said.

He added: “Minsan kahit hindi totoo ay pinaniniwalaan ng iba. But for me, it is not really part of the process but kasama talaga siya sa trabaho.”

Take for example the negative criticisms he got for allegedly persuading Enrique Gil to drink liquor while on a plane bound for London, where Sunday variety program “ASAP 20” recently mounted a show for the Filipino community there.

While he was not surprised that the issue made it in the news, Avelino felt it should have already ended since things were ironed out and Gil took responsibility for causing a commotion inside the plane.

“Maayos naman kami talaga and never naman kaming hindi nag-usap. Yeah, nag-usap kami sa London. He apologized so wala na. Magkakaibigan naman kaming lahat and you don’t take anything… it is a learning process. Life is a learning process,” he said. (MNS)
