ASIA’S Songbird Regine Velasquez said she is still undecided on whether she will endorse a presidential candidate in the 2016 elections, saying it’s too early to say who she will vote for.

She also has to consult her husband Ogie Alcasid when it comes to politics.

“Hindi naman talaga ako nage-endorse. Si PNoy lang talaga yung in-endorse ko noon. I’m not sure kasi depende pa din sa asawa ko,” she said.

The singer added: “Magaling yung asawa ko na pumili. Hindi naman niya ako dini-diktahan because I have my own mind naman, but I believe in him. Kung ano yung pulso niya, most of the time ay tama.”

Both Velasquez and Alcasid supported the presidential bid of then senator Benigno Aquino III in 2010.

Now that Aquino’s term is about to end, Velasquez believes Aquino did the best he could in leading the country and that six years is a short period to fix everything in the government.

“I’m happy with… although may mga things na I wish he could have done or I wish he didn’t say or he didn’t do, but what I like about him is that I know he is not a corrupt president,” she said.

“We are given the freedom to complain, but sana, sa atin din, matuto tayo na pumili ng tamang candidate for the next election para ituloy yung mga nasimulan. PNoy is not a perfect president. Marami akong wini-wish na sana ginawa niya ito. (But) he did the best he could as president,” Velasquez ended.  (MNS)
