Rihanna named CFDA Fashion Icon for 2014
(Relaxnews) – The Barbadian singer and fashionista will be awarded the Fashion Icon prize at this June’s CFDA awards.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America awards are set to take place on June 2 in New York City. And there will be one very special guest in the form of Rihanna according to news released Monday.
“Rihanna is our FASHION ICON recipient for the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards!” announced the CFDA on its Facebook page. Previous winners of the prize include Iman and Lady Gaga.
Rihanna is currently the face of Parisian brand Balmain, as well as the spokesperson for MAC’s Viva Glam campaign against HIV/AIDS. The 26-year-old has also released a number of seasons of clothing collections as part of her Rihanna for River Island line, a collaboration with designer Adam Selman and the UK high street label.
