(Relaxnews) – Gourmet food magazine Saveur has partnered with a cruise line to offer an epicurean-focused voyage on the high seas that will focus on regional Spanish cuisine.

Windstar Cruises, which specializes in yacht-style cruising, will be offering an eight-day tour that takes guests on a culinary tour of Spain’s southern coast.

Hosted by a Saveur chef and a master sommelier, the trip includes cooking demonstrations, pre-dinner wine tastings, on-board dinners that highlight the best of Spanish food and wine pairings and a visit to a Spanish vineyard and culinary excursions on terra firma.

The Culinary & Wine Delights of Spain trip is the latest food-themed cruise out of the industry. This spring, Celebrity Cruises set sail with personalities from the US reality cooking show “Top Chef,” including judges Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons and cheftestant celebrities.

Japanese celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa has also had a longstanding partnership with luxury liners Crystal Cruises, hosting onboard dinners and tastings since 2003. Later this month, Matsuhisa brings his star power to a 12-day voyage between Rome and Istanbul, where he will prepare omakase dinners and help host sake tastings.

Similarly, Norwegian Cruise Lines tapped US food celebrity chef George Zakarian, winner of “The Next Iron Chef,” to create a menu for its seafood restaurant on a Grammy-themed cruise next year.

Meanwhile, Windstar’s Spanish tour leaves port April 19, 2014, with stops at Cadiz, Malaga, Almeria, Cartagena, Valencia and Soller before ending in Barcelona.

Guests who book by August 31 are offered an introductory offer of $2,999 USD per stateroom based on double occupancy.
