ŠKODA VisionC design study
The car will make its real-world debut in Geneva.

(Relaxnews) – A new design concept suggests that the next generation of Skodas are set to get a lot more exciting.

Skoda is a bit like Volvo. Its cars are associated with practicality, reliability and consideration — as in they are built by people who clearly understand the different needs of different drivers.

Yet, ‘sporty’, ‘good to look at’ and ‘striking’ are words and phrases rarely used when someone is asked to describe either car brand.

However, if this sneak peek of the latest Skoda concept car, the Skoda VisionC, heading to Geneva in March, is anything to go by, all of that is about to change.

As with all concept cars the VisionC needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. It is a collection of design cues and ideas that look great on paper and as a show car but, thanks to traffic laws, safety legislation or available engines and materials, probably won’t look anywhere near as great when taken from concept to reality.

However, what the car does show is the direction that Skoda will be taking in terms of aesthetics, lines and proportions with its next-generation vehicles.

Skoda will be officially unveiling the VisionC at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6.
