Solenn Heussaff is adding “composer” to her long list of credentials as one of local showbiz’s most visible personalities.

For her sophomore record set to be released in July under MCA Music, the 27-year-old model-singer said she composed songs for the first time.

Heussaff said the first song she composed talks about “overconfident men,” while the second tackles societal pressures on women.

“I might change the title, but ‘yung isang song is about a guy na akala niya he’s the sh*t. I’m making fun of that kind of male specie,” she said.

Asked where she drew inspiration to write a song on the subject, Heussaff candidly shared, “Marami akong guys na kilala na ganoon!”

For the second song, which Heussaff said is “about a girl who feels rejected from society,” the former VJ took inspiration from having met several women who deal with the issue.

Naka-meet na ako ng maraming girls, I’ve interviewed a lot of women who don’t feel comfortable within themselves dahil sa ibang tao, hindi dahil sa sarili nila,” she said.

In addition to her two compositions, Heussaff said her second album will feature nine other tracks, seven of which are new songs from different composers.

The tracks, the actress added, will span different genres, including dance, house and reggae.

Her collaborations with Original Filipino Music (OPM) icon Ely Buendia, Callalily frontman Kean Cipriano, and acoustic singer Miguel Escueta will also be among those featured in the record. (MNS)
