(Relaxnews) – The 2013 film “The Stag,” titled “Bachelor Weekend” in North America, is to inspire a new film after Warner Bros. acquired remake rights.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that the remake will be executive produced by two of the original film’s producers.

Premiered at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival as “The Stag” and later renamed “Bachelor Weekend” for North American distribution, the comedy was released in Ireland and the UK in March 2014.

Directed by John Butler and co-written by Peter McDonald, it tells the story of a group of sensitive Irish men who agree, rather reluctantly, to go on a stag (or bachelor party) weekend in the country, where the groom’s brother-in-law (McDonald) winds up making trouble.
