‘Walking Dead’ tops list of most watched cable shows in 2013

(Relaxnews) – Ratings agency Nielsen has announced the top ten most watched series on American cable TV in 2013, listing AMC’s zombie series in first place with 16.16 million total viewers.

“Duck Dynasty,” the only reality TV show in the list, took second place with 13.37 million total viewers. Aired on A&E, the show follows the everyday life of the Robertson family, who run a duck hunting supply business.

Viewed by 13.19 million Americans during 2013, History’s “The Bible” is in third place on the list. The historical fiction series came in ahead of “Breaking Bad” on AMC (8.48 million) and “Rizzoli & Isles” on TNT (8.33 million).

In the second half of the ranking, Nielsen lists “Sons of Anarchy” (7.09 million, FX), the “Closer” spin-off “The “Major Crimes” (6.45 million, TNT), “Longmire” (5.95 million, A&E), “American Horror Story” (5.94 million, FX) and “Vikings,” History’s new fiction series, which drew in 5.93 million viewers.
