(Relaxnews) – The cosmetics division of Yves Saint Laurent has designed the makeup looks featured in the forthcoming biographical film on the brand’s founder. Directed by French filmmaker Jalil Lespert, “Yves Saint Laurent” is slated to premiere in Paris on January 8, 2014.

Only a few weeks remain before the debut of Jalil Lespert’s much-anticipated biopic on the legendary couturier. The feature will focus primarily on the young Saint Laurent, who at age 21 took up the reins at Christian Dior following the designer’s sudden death, before creating his own fashion house three years later with partner Pierre Bergé, revolutionizing the style codes of the era.

Yves Saint Laurent participated in the film by creating the makeup looks for three of its main characters: models Victoire Doutreleau (Charlotte Le Bon) and Betty Catroux (Marie de Villepin) and fashion designer and muse Loulou de la Falaise (Laura Smet).

Makeup artists at the brand have designed signature looks, from eyeshadow to nail polish, using iconic Yves Saint Laurent Beauté products such as Teint Touche Eclat illuminating foundation, Pure Chromatics eye shadow palette, Volume Effet Faux Cils Baby Doll mascara, and Rouge Pur Couture lipstick.
